Rarely do divinities walk on Earth. And when they do, humanity stirs and in great wonderment tries to understand and proclaim their advent. Sensing a sacred and profound significance in their life and teachings, the wise rush to gather and preserve every word that falls from their blessed lips. Words that carry hope and possibilities of revival and growth of one and all. Swami Vivekananda, a man of infinite blessed qualities, supreme among men, whom Sri Ramakrishna Himself describes as ‘ever-perfect‘, came with a message of hope for mankind. His words and influence have sailed far and wide and have anchored in a million hearts. Like the Sun of undiminishing splendor, his personality and life have kindled the fire of sacredness in countless lives. This Web Portal, a gateway into the ‘WORLD OF VIVEKANANDA’, opens into an infinite expanse of knowledge about Swami Vivekananda. It is a confluence of diverse rivers emanating from different sources all merging into the Vivekananda-sea. A humble attempt with a noble intention, this portal seeks to provide all available materials on Swami Vivekananda to the world at large. The Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark, Kolkata, has taken up this project with financial assistance from the Government of India. The host makes an open request to all to help in this gigantic mission by sharing any authentic, meaningful and reliable information related to Swami Vivekananda and his works. Any other assistance for the accomplishment of this project is welcome.
